Porec, Istria Vacations & Tours

Poreč is a charming Istrian resort in western Croatia with a rich history dating back to the Roman era. The 6th-century Euphrasian Basilica dominates the Old Town and it  is famous for its gem-studded Byzantine mosaics. The oldest part of this charming city, dates back to the 4th century. The nearby Baredine Cave should be visited for its beautiful stalactite formations.

After visiting the World Heritage–listed basilica, a medley of Gothic, Romanesque and baroque buildings, the lush and verdant Istrian interior must also be visited and Unforgettable Croatia can either arrange car hire or a private guided tour. The city is also close to Italian border so Venice should also be visited, whilst in the region.

Visit the Baredine Cave

Visit the underworld of the Baredine Cave. This cave is a treasure chest of stalagmites and stalactites, underworld sculptures created through time by the constant dripping of water over so many years. Since 1986, the cave has been a geomorphological monument of nature, opening for visitors in 1995. We would recommend a trip to the cave if you are in Istria and you will  descend along a 300 meter long pathway up to 60 meters below the ground and will admire the spectacular  underground lake. You will also have the chance to visit five beautifully decorated chambers.
