You’ll embark on multiple guided tours of Split, Korcula, Dubrovnik, Kotor and Perast in Montenegro, and Hvar, led by locals for expert insight. Enjoy time on one of Europe’s most spectacular beaches, a fresh oyster tasting, and numerous swim stops in secluded bays throughout.
The newest vessel to sail the shores of Croatia, the MS Markan made her maiden voyage in 2018. Measuring 161 feet by 28 feet, she offers deluxe accommodation in 19 guest cabins including 9 VIP cabins with private balconies. Look forward to relaxing on the spacious sundeck, soaking up the sunshine and the scenery, while attentive crew members help complete the experience for the ultimate cruise of a lifetime.
Our driver will be there to welcome you at Split International Airport or your Split hotel to provide a private transfer to the port where your elegant ship awaits. Check-in is available from 2 pm on and once you’ve settled in, you’ll join our local guide for a tour of Split’s historic center. Nearly half is covered by the 4th-century Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, which includes some of the most impeccably preserved Roman architecture in the world. After exploring, return to the ship for a welcome cocktail reception/meet-and-greet where you’ll get to know your fellow passengers, the captain, and crew followed by a delicious, multicourse welcome dinner.
Departing early this morning from ancient Split, we head toward Korcula Island. Best known as the birthplace of Marco Polo, it has a fairytale-like walled Old Town complete with gates, towers, and bastions. Along the way, we’ll stop in a secluded bay to enjoy lunch surrounded by the spectacular scenery. Arriving at Korcula early this afternoon, meet up with our local guide for a walking tour of the enchanting historic center where you’ll notice significant Venetian influence, including the winged lions at St. Mark’s Cathedral. Afterward, explore on your own, enjoying dinner in one of the many traditional tavernas or fine-dining restaurants, some with sea views.
Enjoy breakfast as we continue our cruise by sailing along the coast to Dubrovnik. En route, take advantage of a swim stop in one of the beautiful hidden bays. Arriving at the “Pearl of the Adriatic” after lunch, you’ll follow your Cruise Director and local guide for a tour of the city’s UNESCO-listed historic center. Look forward to expert insight while marveling at centuries-old buildings, including Gothic-style Rector’s Palace and the Renaissance Sponza’s Palace. Leisure time follows for exploring the limestone paved streets and perhaps taking a stroll atop the defensive walls that encircle the Old City. You’ll find many enticing spots for dinner on your own afterward.
A full-day trip will bring you into Montenegro, with the border only about an hour’s drive away. It’s the perfect opportunity to explore some of the most magnificent destinations while enjoying the dramatic mountain and fjord scenery along the way. Our first stop is the small traditional village of Perast. Nestled along the Bay of Kotor, it’s home to many beautifully preserved Venetian Gothic buildings. Enjoy a quick guided tour before continuing to Old Town Kotor for a tour within its walls which include many medieval buildings like cathedrals and palaces. A traditional Montenegrin lunch follows before making our return to Dubrovnik, with leisure time for dinner.
A scenic and tasty day awaits. We’ll cruise to the Peljesac Peninsula. It’s renowned for producing some of the most popular red Croatian wines and its mouthwatering oysters, with the high concentration of salt and minerals in the bay said to be the reason behind the delicious flavor. En route, enjoy a swim stop in a serene bay. Upon arrival at the port, you’ll follow your Cruise Director for a short traditional boat ride to Ston for a memorable tasting of freshly harvested oysters and mussels. We’ll head back to the ship in the early evening providing time to prepare for the Captain’s Dinner with live entertainment.
Winding our way through the magnificent Pakleni Islands, surrounded by crystal-clear turquoise water, we’ll enjoy a swim-stop here before continuing to Hvar, one of the sunniest islands in Croatia, renowned for its striking natural beauty with everything from lavender fields, vineyards, and postcard-perfect beaches. Old Town Hvar is particularly alluring with its many historic landmarks which include Europe’s oldest public theater, dating back to 1612, and the Renaissance St. Stephen’s Cathedral. Perched above is the 16th-century Spanjola Fortress. Enjoy a locally guided tour to learn more about it and then enjoy dinner on your own, perhaps followed by a late-night – Hvar is famous for its buzzing nightlife.
This morning we set off before breakfast from Hvar and make our way to the hidden gem that is Trogir. On route our captain will take us for a slow scenic sail past one of the worlds most photographed beaches on the Island of Brac called Zlatni Rat or Golden Horn Beach. After seeing this impressive beach we will continue on to Trogir with an extended swim stop on route in a quiet bay. Once we arrive in Trogir, join our local guide for a tour of this stunning medieval gem which many refer to as a little Venice. We’ll spend the night in Trogir so you’ll have the evening at your leisure to explore its medieval streets. It’s like an open-air museum with significant Venetian influence and you’ll find a wide range of eateries for dinner.
After an unforgettable week of cruising and land tours, we’ll make our way back to Split early this morning. If you have an early flight from Split International Airport, it’s possible to disembark in Trogir which is just a short drive away. Otherwise, continue with us to Split, with disembarkation by 9 am. You’ll have time for one last breakfast onboard and goodbyes to your captain, the crew, and fellow passengers, many of whom are probably new friends. Your driver will be there to provide a private transfer to Split’s airport or your ongoing hotel if you’ve decided to spend more time in this beautiful city.
